Well I'm not an LP person but I have stayed at a holiday inn.
I'd recommend looking at:
LDMud - http://www.bearnip.com/lars/proj/ldmud.html
DGD - ftp://ftp.dworkin.nl/pub/dgd/
Primarily because they are recent and are still being maintained. LDMud is a continuation (successor?) of the LPMud-3.2.1@140 Amylaar driver.
Both support the ancient 2.4.5 mudlib AFAIK plus more recent and probably better libraries to start with.
See here for some more info:
http://phantasmal.sourceforge.net/DGD/index.html
I have no idea what sort of Console client program that is but it looks like a real PITA.
Take a look a PuTTY, one of the best Telnet/SSH terminal clients you can get for Windows. http://www.putty.nl/ |

Are these codebases similar enough to LPMUD that coders can make the transition easy enough? My coder only knows LPMUD.
Update: New errors on install:

LPC is a language used by a dozen different mud drivers.

I have no clue what you are installing now. I can tell that whatever it is you did not bother to read the documentation at all. |

Is it possible you ran make from the wrong directory this last time? If there is no Makefile present, "make install" will return the error message you showed. The current directory displayed on that tool you're running make from is suggestive of not being in the right directory. |

I'm honestly done with your pretentious insults. Please refrain from posting here. Thanks.
You don't want to help, obviously. I told you I was new at this. This IS the Newbie Forum, after all.
Just stop posting here. It's not hard to do, really.
Following the README, step by step:
First step, run configure script from /src:

In order to execute a script in the current directory, you need to enter ./configure, not configure. I suggest picking up an introductory unix book.
PS: You are in no position to be telling others when or when not to post. Tyche and others have tried to help you, but if you're not going to do basic research for yourself, it's hard to be sympathetic to your situation. |

Another site you might want to look at was developed for documentation, FAQs, driver and mudlib information specifically for LPMuds:
LPMud Resource Site: http://stormbringer.sysconn.com/lpmud/ |
