Discussion for those interested in whinging, bitching and complaining about how others license their code follows.

What license? Don't have one, yet. I may yank Diku's license; it covers everything I'm worried about. I may GPL it (or rewrite the GPL slightly in order to cover services--if you host my code you must make available the source).
As for the code itself...I'm workin' on it! |

You may want to look at the AGPL, in that case. This contains the (somewhat controversial) clause being considered for the GPLv3 that prevents a source-code transmission feature from being removed or impaired. |

DIKU has an even worse license. I'm thinking BSD has a good license. You can use it commercial or not, just give credit. Just not a fan of licenses that don't allow you to make money.

Diku's license says you can't make money, not that you can't accept donations. I'm cool with that.
BSD is not fun. I want any code that's used to become public--or, at very least, I'd use a Netscape license so *I* could get it. =) |
