|My MUD eninge uses a command queue for each player. When you are in a wait state and send a command you receive a message:
Command Queued, waiting X.X seconds.
Also, a slash (/) will flush the queue, while a slash followed by a command (/wave) will cause that command to be pushed to the front of the queue, while leaving the rest of your queue intact.
My mud does have a custom client that will (when complete) display in graphical form your remaining wait time and a list of your queued commands. Clicking a command in this graphical queue list removes it from the queue.
However, without the graphical interface, I think a command queue might be a bit confusing.
