I've been working on a new mudlib built over the kernel lib, for use with DGD 1.4; however, I have started looking into Gurbalib, as it already has a number of "starting" features that I wanted to get in rather early, like the network support, intermud, FTP, basic account system, etc.

Yet the mudlib doesn't actually have a whole lot of documentation. In fact, what documentation it DOES have appears to be sorely outdated, and some of the readme files simply read "README". Smile

This mudlib could work to my advantage if it can offer these starting features and still have room for others that I want - namely, I want to take advantage of DGD's advertised persistence and compile features.

Does anyone know if gurbalib supports these?

If not, how difficult would it be to enable support for these things? Or would it be better to pass this one up and keep working on my other mudlib?

I don't know if this question is still relevant, but here is something.

Check out this post: http://lpmuds.net/forum/index.php?topic=953.0

So I think the answer to your question is yes, Gurbalib has the necessary infrastructure to support DGD's persistency features. This includes in-place recompilation.

I'd recommend using that forum for getting more prompt and educated answers on the state of Gurbalib -- or the DGD mailing list.
